My hotel in Istanbul was pretty close to the Rumist, and, while the breakfast at my hotel wasn't bad, it was overpriced. Also, there aren't many places in Istanbul that open early enough to serve breakfast. So, the Rumist became my restaurant of choice for breakfast on most mornings (out of a week in Istanbul) for a few other reasons:... More

For a restaurant located on a tourist street the prices were very reasonable. The food was tasty and the service was friendly. We ordered two dishes and were given a basket of bread and dip to eat while we waited for the food. Sit outside for a nice view of the street.

Not a bad place, but not much to rave about. Food is generally good, service attentative, check is as usual in this place of around 100TL for two. It is oriented on tourists. If you are close or passing by, eat there. But no reason to drive from somewhere else - there are plenty of such places all over tourist... More

Many of the restaurants on this tourist street serve mediocre food at high prices. Rumist stood out for serving a great meal. Try the mixed kebab plate and some apple tea. The clay pots are also fun. Rumist does not serve alcohol so if you find yourself in need of a cold Efes after touring you can go directly across... More

Stopped here for a lunchtime snack, had a variety of the topped pide breads which were all very tasty. One thing we hadn't realised was no alcohol, but we managed to survive.

I sought out cafe rumist based on its tripadvisor ratings. Look for the green awning on the corner as the name isn't that prominently displayed. I had one of the special dishes and the food was excellent. I went early evening and the service was good whilst it was still quiet but as it became busier later on the service... More

We visited the restaurant during our April vacation. The food was great and tasty. The staff were courteous and very helpful explaining the menu.

Just got back from dinner - this should really be a review of Hotel Star rather than cafe Rumist - we originally went to Rumist because of its reviews on Tripadvisor , but found out it didn't do alcohol. However, they suggested we go across the road to hotel star, part of the same organisation, as they could do wine... More

Nice ambience, very good hearty turkish food, good service Only issue was that the prices seem a little steep.

following a bad choice restaurant, I decided to resort to tripadvisor and the cafe rumist being only a short walk from our hotel was chosen. The cafe itself was pretty full but with a very friendly family atmosphere we were soon relaxed and enjoying great food which was prepared well. I had the clay pot kebab which was entertainment itself... More
