I live around the corner from Tom Yum Kung Restaurant and in many ways I love it. I lived in Thailand for a year and so I really appreciate the authentic and reliable Thai food. They are respected and deservedly so for the quality and spice of their dishes. I often order the Kapow Gai, the curries, the Pad Thai,... More

If you want to experience a restaurant that many Cambodians and their family enjoy, Tom Yung Kung on Street 278 is the place to enjoy that experience. Very cheap by western and Cambodian standards, this place has a packed menu that will not allow you to leave hungry or unsatisfied. It has seating upstairs with air-con which can be a... More

we ate in this restaurant on the advices of tripadvisor. One hour waiting for two grilled chicken plates, and a quarter more for some stir fried vegetables. None of dishes have been served so we could not eat at the same time my wife and me. The whole without any smile and even with antipathy.

A very popular restaurant and easy to see why. The food is delicious with a good selection to choose from and excellent value. We went twice in the few days we stayed in Phnom Penh.

After near 4 years in Thailand, what I miss the most is the Thai food, then I found this place. I have read the other reviews, some negative, I guess we need to factor in that in Countries like Cambodia - things are different, if you want Waldorf standard service, go there. I also do agree that at times the... More

After not eating the whole day, my fiancé suggested we try this place out. As a vegetarian I ordered a veggie soup noodle. Anxiously waiting I was appalled what was in front of me. Noodles some type of black soup and the other 90% of oil. Took a bite to only noticed there was meat in there, and of course... More

Went here on the basis of TripAdvisor ratings and found it disappointing. Reviews said to expect slow service, and so it was. But we expected better from the food. Fish Amok was tepid, although tasty. Banana flower salad was inedible, with a vile, musty flavour. Fried cashews were top quality and properly crunchy, but bland, without a trace of seasoning.... I have been to Tom Yum Kung multiple times over the past 5 moths. The food is good, especially their crab cakes and the Fish Amok. However, I have noticed that the level of service has been steadily declining over recent months. The staff are all very young and not very service minded. Many times have I (and other customers)... We enjoyed coming here a few times, the ambiance was nice. They are mostly Thai food, and serve Thai beer as well. Which is sometimes a welcome change from the omnipresent Angkor beer.

The food is consistently first rate. When the crowds arrive, sometimes the service is inconsistent. But it's excellent dining.
