We called in most days for an afternoon drink, they offer good specials with the beer. Had dinner one night, good value. We ordered the "vegetarian spare ribs" out of curiosity - turns out it is tofu. The toilets are a bit questionable - but the food, drinks and service are good.

We went there on our first day when we arrived since it was next to our hotel and we ended up going there another two times. The food was really good, especially the seafood dishes, price was reasonable and it surely was service with a smile! :)

I ate several times at different Geckos and each time was just as wonderful as the first. Great variety from Vietnamese, to Western, to Italian food all done extremely well. Fantastic customer service.

Recommended by friends this afternoon so I came and had dessert. Now just finished the Chicken with Curry dish and it's superb. I've got 2 more days here in Hanoi, so I know where I'll be for lunch and dinner. Hmmm.....got a 24 hour bus journey to Laos; wonder if they'll do a takeaway?!! 😕

We visited Gecko the first day we arrived in Hanoi as it was just round the corner from our Hotel.My wife can be quite fussy with her food but she rated Gecko as brilliant.The food itself couldnt be bettered and excellant choice of very cheap beers!!Needless to say we visited numerous times during our stay.Would recommend it to anyone visiting
