We came here for a meal after all our meetings and booked the entire upstairs as there were quite a lot of us. The food here is really good - some of us tried the clams with artichokes for starters, lobster for main meal and desserts are also great. I would definitely recommend giving this a go if you are... Client dinner. Living in Vietnam for 2 years. Expected an elegant dining experience with high quality food. We had a tasting menu. Avocado & crab wraps were soggy. The seaweed wrap had to be removed - both texture and taste were offputing. Next, sea bass in banana leaves. The fish was not fresh. It was frozen, defrosted, put in a... More

We enjoyed a long, slow dinner with modern vietnamese and french cuisine. It was a delightful treat. The setting is in a beautiful old French colonial house. It is simply decorated and the focus is on the food. The service was very attentive and thorough. A definite recommendation. More

The business lunch is my preferred way to enjoy the amazing fusion of chef Didier Corlou's food at Verticale. This is the best food I have found in Hanoi and the downstairs spice shop is where I stock up on spices to take home. The nuoc mam salt is amazing, as is the five spices mix. More

We went to the restaurant to experience the menu of Didier Corlou after reading about him on the web. The dining room is upstairs, formal and very old style french. It didn't really create much of an atmosphere. The food is fusion Vietnamese and French which mostly worked, but did offer one or two dishes that were most odd. Somethings... More

Years before actually coming to Vietnam I had been curious about trying this restaurant, who I stumbled upon surfing the web. Because of the very mixed reviews, I decided to first come at noon to try the cheap lunch menu. I liked it and came back two days later for dinner, thus I ate here twice, two very different menus.... For hanois "best" chef/restaurant it was disappointing too much food per dish was expected, given the largely american clientele, but still too much even by that standard. flavours were hit and miss too, usually with simple componants overwhelming the rest of the dish (a broth over kingfish sashimi was FAR too bitter for the subtle fish) money would be better... Expensive, cold in every ways and the food was lacking spark! ( salt and pepper is the minimum but not even...) There is nothing worst than paying for food you feel is not fresh and that it's been in the cooking pan for few days!!!! No-one is managing this place, it has been left alone, it is dying!!!!! And it... More

The setting is quite beautiful and the food was pretty decent. I especially enjoyed the starters and the tamarind sorbet to cleanse our palate before the mains was awesome. However the mains was a bit of a letdown. My steak which was supposed to be medium was more medium rare or rare in some parts. My husband's fish even still... More

Set lunch including glass of wine is VND 305,000 (US$15). Food bursts with perfectly blended flavors - the chef is a master. Service not at same high level as food, but doesn't matter because food is so good. The wine included in set lunch is nice too. More
