The restaurant o should I say a Chiang Mai establishment is located on Tha Pae road just opposite Wat Mahawan. We tried this place twice & found the food to be good. Except the steamed bass, which I found to be a bit too tangy with lime, the food was very good. We liked the atmosphere & service More

Tried the massaman, a pumpkin dish, and a soup and none of it was very good. The service is standard Thai, but not so bad that uppity suburbians will be disappointed and call their over-privileged children on Skype about it the next day. Atmosphere is good. More

We ate here on the recommendation of the rough guide. The restaurant is cosy and has a friendly feeling with wooden tables, a sofa, books and soft lighting. The menu is extensive with a range of Thai (southern and northern), western, Indian and breakfast dishes. We stuck to traditional northern food but found the three dishes of varied quality. The... The continued inclusion of this place in the major guidebooks is presumably a lazy holdover from many years ago when a traveller-friendly cafe in an inland city like Chiang Mai was unusual. The decor is tired and certainly most likely to warm an old-school backpacker's heart. There was nothing inedible about the food, but none of what we ordered (Khao... More

As someone else said on trip advisor if it wasn't in these guides no one would go here-it makes me question these guides! I ordered crispy noodles with vegetables and made very sure there were no mushrooms as im allergic. The food came out, there were mushrooms. So I told the waitress very nicely and she took it back. I... More

This place is strategecally located, thus it gets a lot of customers. It is also cheap. However, I found the food terrible. The fried dish on rice was only barely edible with copious amounts of fish sauce added. The fruit yoghurt had the worst commercially made yoghurt ever. The place is dark and lacks lighting. More

Just excellent value for money meals. ate here about 3 or 4 times on a 17 day visit - never had a bad meal, and was probably the cheapest place where I ate.. On every occasion ate outside - watch the world go by - and could have a smoke!! Highly recommended, esp for those on a tight budget. More
