We discovered a new favorite dish while at this restaurant and we loved their mango with sticky rice. It is a remarkably nice environment and offers good quality thai food at reasonable prices AND they take credit cards. Although we did not make use of it, they also had some italian wines available. We went back two nights in a... More

This restaurant actually has a lot of tables but you could miss it if you aren't careful. As some other reviewers have pointed out, this is a tablecloth, cloth napkin kind of restaurant. Its decor is a bit dark but I find myself going here fairly often. The food is of a good standard. I suppose I could be more... More

Hong Tauw is a charming old Thai restaurant a favorite with both locals and visitors. The food is typical of northern Thailand ...the portions are large and the price very fair. It is home cooking served in an old Thai Inn and not a place to miss even if you only have a short stay in Chiang Mai. They offer... More

I have eaten here a few times and had both good and bad expriences. Fist the decor is a little odd, with dozens of clocks marking time on the walls, which somehow does not set you at your ease (especially when they chime the hour). The food has differed each time I went, once I enjoyed a very good nuer... More

While the decor is nothing special, the tasty food and extremely cheap pricing more than make up for it. We particularly enjoyed the Kuay Teow Pad Kee Mao (stir fried spicy rice noodles with beef and thai basil) and the Kuay Teow Phad Hang Kai (stir fried dry noodle with chicken). Overall we were satisfied and would return again. More

I've been in Nimma area for a couple of days, looked into the restaurant from the street and never did bothered until my companion suggested we give it a try. The deco and atmosphere is nice (it would be better if they don't play top 40 english music), food is nice esp the northern fare and I love the fermented... More
