There are many great casual restuarants in bangkok. For a hotel this is one of the best I have been to. The meals were a good size & delicious.

The setting, the service and the food is excellent. Unhurried, efficient, courteous, topped off with the best mash potato I have had in years - in Bangkok of all places! Ice Cream was delicious, try the mango and the coconut.

Wanted to enjoy the river side on a sunny day. The Oriental hotel is classy and warm at the same time. Had classic and perfectly executed meal. Fish and chips, croque Monsieur, fried squids. Perfect lunch.

We stayed in the Peninsular and decided to try the Mandarin that we have previously stayed at for lunch and show our accompanying friend the competition. Connections across the river between the two hotels is brilliant. It is a pity that the Mandarin entrance forces you to go through the Hotel rather than alighting on their splendid river side terrace.... More

If you like dining in a romantic environment at the chaoprao river the Mandarin Oriental is a solid choice. Both outside as Inside, nicely decorated and romantic lightning guaranteed. Fantastic view. High quality in every aspect. The choices on the menue are both covering French orientend as Thai food. Quality is excellent. If you like an onion soup they serve... More

A good international restaurant, at this Grand Dame of hotels. Service as expected superb. Food was good. Room just ok-it was too hot to sit outside. I prefer the restaurant terrace at Shrangrila

I went at The verandah for the first time since it has been renovated - I had dinner there April 16th, I has an enjoyable time, elegant, relaxing view and ambiance. Exactly what I needed at the time. I had the Pistachio crusted Tuna, nicely cooked, the quinoa like couscous was good. My partner had the charcoal promotion , simple... More

Great buffet on a beautiful verandah over looking the river. Food is fantastic and service is top notch. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The buffet is international with a mix of western and Asian dishes, including a sushi bar. I must warn you, the Mandarin is a luxury, five star hotel and the prices reflect it.Dress... More

We decided to have lunch on the river on a very hot day. We caught a metered taxi from our hotel and we were concerned on how much the fare would be after receiving advice from some people. When we arrived at the Mandarin Oriental, it cost us 100BHT (approx $3 AUD) All the restaurants at the Mandarin Oriental looked... More
