I left a glorious review for this restaurant back in 2010. We just went back in May 2012, and the experience just comes to show how much restaurants can change. The food was just SO BLA...nothing special at all...The salads were okay but nothing to rage about...the chicken looked a lot better on the photo than in my plate, the... More

I had recently returned from a trip to Vietnam so have been craving Vietnamese food. I decided to go here for lunch. I went alone but there was a big table of 10 people there when i got there. The waiter and the chef were the only two staff people but they were so friendly and nice. They apologized that... More

We had read about this reastaurant in a guide, and the review was exactly right: fantastic vietnamese food - the chef Meyung Robson (former Miss Saigon, later an FBI agent!) claims to serve the best vietnamese food in Bangkok, and she probably does! The price is very worth, not the cheap Thai restaurants but you would never be able to... More

The menu arrived as a series of photographs with no prices. Although there were only a couple of people in the restaurant, the food took quite some time to arrive. When it did, I found myself unable to enthuse about it. It was just okay. It's located just over 1 km up Thong Lor on the left-hand side. I can´t... More

This is a great, casual little place in the Thonglor neighbourhood. It's not much to look at from the outside, but the food is worth the visit. The owner is Meyung Robson. She was born in Vietnam but fled to the U.S. She became an FBI agent and later retired to Bangkok. She's very personable and if it's not too... More

Though the taste is somewhat "authentic"-- as in not Thai-flavored, I find this place ho-hum. Nothing really stands out. Nothing is a must-try. There is an extensive menu, but many items are not available when you try to order. The best bet is to ask for the menu of the day.I find the food to be on the pricey side... More

2nd - 3rd choice simple shop house, down to earth, whole in the wall, no thrills, simple flavor, Vietnam restaurant in Central Thong Lo, only recommended for lunch if you really need to. Xuan Mai Restaurant stands out as unique in Bangkok for me due to the convenient, come as you are, relaxed, low level shop house environment you have... More

We tried this restaurant based off of a tip from a friend that lives on Thong Lor. This friend raved about the food, the service and most of all the amazing owner who was more than happy to help him plan his trip to Vietnam. We were very happy with the food and the service. The owner always seems to... More

Why come all the way to Bangkok for Vietnamese food? Xuan Mai Restaurant is why. Very nondescript setting, but righteously fresh vegetables and spring rolls. My friend tried the papaya salad and it was delish. In fact, we considered ordering two of them since I ended up eating half of it. Close to all the action, easy to get there... More

I came here several times before. Xuan Mai changed their location recently to Thongloar district. Apart from this move, the change brought an extended menue, so theres even more choices. Food is delicious and freshly prepared, so you might have to wait some minutes until you are served, the taste and quality however are excellent. Prices are reasonable. The owner... More
