Had a really nice meal, on a fairly quiet night, chatting with other diners and the Cameroonian Chef. The Cameroonian Curry is well worth a try and defiantly something your unlikely to find elsewhere in Windhoek. Generous portions. More

La Marmite is a very down to earth, easy going, african place. The food was something different and very tasty. More

The food was good and reasonably priced, but they did not have any of the wines wanted. The waitress did not look experienced but was friendly. We asked for an ice bucket for our wine and it was dirty, had to avoid looking at it in order toenjoy my meal. The whole place needs refurbishment ad new linen. Also, the... More

The first impressions can be a little off putting – it is a little shabby, not hugely inviting and the service was a little casual. But put these qualms aside, the food is excellent as is evident from the number of locals eating there. We both ate the specialities; there's a Cameroonian chef who does very good “curries”. Rich spicy... More

It was the best food I had during my entire Namibia Trip. Period. They make great Curries there (with meat and vegetarian). We came around 8:30 PM for dinner, got a table outside in the back, mostly lid by two candles on the table. The waitress was friendly and fast and the food a delight. If we would have stayed... More

My colleagues and I decided to pop into La Marmite on a friday right after work, since it was too early to have dinner and abit chilly we ordered warm drinks, since they do not serve Latte's or Espresso, we opted for Hot chocolate. We waited for over 30 minutes - turns out they had run out of milk and quickly send... La Marmite wins over Joe;s Beer House every time! Locals actually eat here, that's a good start. The food is delicious, and vegetarian options are fabulous: go for the veg. peanut butter! Owner is very friendly and appreciates his customers. Big groups can take a while, so be patient. Use a radio taxi to get home at the end of... More
