If you liked the classic movie "Casablanca" do not spoil the movie by visiting Rick's Cafe. There is NOTHING that even slightly resembles the movie cafe, staff, drinks - even no upright piano! It's a modern restaruant with a classic name. Our party of 6 seasoned travelers visited on 5 June and no one would ever consider returning, nor would... More

If you are looking for the true experience of being in a Moroccan restaurant, I found that there are better places to go; but if you want good food and good service, this is a good choice. Not everything was incredible, but it was consistently good. Like others, I agree that it is a bit "touristy" -- but it does... More

A detailed replica of the original Rick's Cafe in the movie "Casablanca". the food was delicious and the atmosphere excellent. you should definately walk around and see the whole place. in some rooms there are big tv screen playing the movie.

The place is about as much like Ricks in the movie as any restaurant in someplace like Dubuque. The food is way overpriced. I ordered the"Obama family recipe chile". I seriously doubt the Obama's serve ground beef on a bed of saffron flavored Kush-Kush. My beer was warm. The service redefined insouciance. The WIFI was down and no one cared... More

This is not a great experience because it mimics the movie, its a great experience because it has great food and great ambience--in many ways is much more "authentic" than the movie set. This is not a tourist trap and you have to reserve, dress appropriately, and pay quite dearly, but its worth it. Casablanca is no longer much fun... More

I think I must have been to a different 'Rick's Café' to the negative reviewers on here - I can only say this is one of the best evenings I have ever had. No - it wasn't the very best meal I've eaten but it was lovely. What made this place was the fabulous atmosphere and the stunning lighting. We... More

There was no way we were going to visit Casablanca and not check out Rick's Cafe--even if it is cashing in on the celebrity of a 60-year old film classic. I kind of expected something a bit more Disney-esque and "touristy", self-consciously (and unsuccessfully) emulating the atmosphere of the movie. We found none of that. It's simply a fine dining... I expected subpar food and a bit of tackiness from a restaurant cashing in on the classic movie but this was none of that. This restaurant was classy, beautifully decorated, excellent staff and the food was very good! Cocktails start at 80drm, starters are around 60-150, entrees at around 130-150drm, desserts at 50 so it's expensive by Morocco's standards but... More

I was a little worried that Rick's would be a typical tourist trap but everything about it was wonderful! The owner personally greets diners and supervises each plate as it goes on the table. Food was great - a mix of French & Moroccan, with the freshest of everything. Staff were attentive without being intrusive, they even gave the wine... More

We didn't have high hopes for this because we expected they were cashing on tourists and to some extent it is: the decor, the film references, the piano. But then again I would have been very disappointed if there were no film references! Food was very enjoyable, staff were lovely and the piano-playing started up mid-evening and really added to...
