decidely out of the bar hopping mix now that their kitchen has been renovated to a guest room. Sad.
I had the pleasure dining here for lunch with a group of friends.we were celebrating a birthday and the menu of the day was Mexican fare. We ordered a few different dishes and passed them around to share. There wer 5 of us. We ordered three entrees and and appetizer and there was plenty to share. We were all so... More
I live a couple places down and was very sorry to hear that Jon and Sue were turning the kitchen into a suite and Sunshine Cafe is no more. It was a great place with great food! It will be missed.
Having visited the Sunshine Cafe on earlier trips we were worried when with our last visit we found out that Kenny, Kathy and Kai were now running the place. instead of John and Sue. However we couldn't have been more pleased. After hearing them proudly discuss thier Texas roots we were served undoubtedly the best TexMex on the island (far... More
Kathy, Kenny, and Kai; their love of the business and providing whatever it takes to make you feel at home and welcome; their Mexican food. Yes, they have other food as well, and lots of good drinks. Their specialty, however, is kindness, consideration, and their caring attitude about for experience, and the quality of food and service they deliver. We... More
I have to give the new owners of Sunshine Cafe a round of applause. They are a nice family working together as a team. Kenny is working hard in the kitchen to change the menu a bit and keep the many great dishes already on the menu. They are very helpful and they will not only make sure you are... More
We ate at the Sunshine Cafe three times during our recent visit. Food was awesome, and the servings were so big we had to box some up and carryout for a late night snack. Prices? Very reasonable for the quality and volume of food. All the seafood is excellent and that is what we had each meal, but other diners... More
This review is for the Sunshine Cafe, which is part of Hobbies Hideaway and is owned by the same people. We just ate there the third week of April, 2011. Food was good and prices were very reasonable, but the owner (John) was VERY nasty to our entire group of 15 guests. He acted like an ill-tempered hot-head when we... More
Ate and drank at the Sunshine Cafe many times during our week stay on Roatan. Had both lucnh and dinner, tried something different each time and everything was very good and resonably priced. The beer was cold and the mixed drinks tasty. The owners, John & Sue where always around to satisfy our every need or just chit chat. Great... More
I went to the Sunshine cafe for dinner with friends. I have traveled all over the world and am a loyal reader of Trip Advisor before any trip. But I've never written a review until today. This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. The service was extremely slow (3 hours) and the owners refuse to help out -... More
