Always enjoy having dinner here! Grandma's chicken with mashed potatoes is a favorite. (Warning, there's enough food for two! )

Max's is a routine stop for me every time I travel on I-80 from Reno to Northern California. It's a great place to stretch your legs, parking is always easy and the property clean and pretty. The service is cheerful and prompt, the food hot and tasty and the restrooms are always spotless! Many times, we just grab a cup...

As locals, it took us several years to finally try Max's Restaurant. We found the menu to be extensive and varied. We tried the wraps for lunch, which were sizeable and tasty. Our server, Jamie, was professional and friendly. We were surprised at how nice the interior is. (For many years, this was a Marie Calender's restaurant.) Max's obviously made...

I feel the quality and service fell very short of expectation based on previous experiences. We went for lunch and the food quality was a bit below average. We waited a long time to get served as we thought we were invisible. All tables around us got bread, we did not. All tables around us were serviced first, regardless if...

This was perhaps our 10th visit. Four of us. Two ordered the special -- Grilled shrimp and scallops with crab-stuffed mushroom atop mashed potatoes (verdict: very good). One had the 8-ounce prime rib dinner (darn good, decent size, cooked just right). And I enjoyed my usual bowl of Matzo Ball soup and Angus sliders.
The soup recipe is consistent, which...

It was really nice, we had a separate room all decorated with Christmas trees, and lights. The service was great and there were about 20 of us there. Would definitely go back, the food was excellent.
We've been here on several occasions, but haven't been all that crazy about their food. Service has been good.
However, the corned beef sandwich is great, if you like "Jewish Food" then you should be able to find something you like at Max's.
Note further: There is another restaurant in North Auburn called "Max's Deli and Catering Company" --- they...

Max's is so generous with their food that most meals were shared by my husband and I. There Mexican omlet is the best omlet I have ever eaten in my whole life. I ordered it twice, and shared it twice!
Also a fine breakfast. The food tends to be heavy and portions substantial. We shared one meal. Good selection of draft beers at the bar.
It's always a great place to meet with friends for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Their food is very delicious. There sweet potato fries are to die for. I hadn't been there is quite some time and it is a hidden jewel. The menu is so large that it was difficult making up my mind what I wanted to eat. They...
