Old style great service. The staff meet you at the door with a warm hello. Service is outstanding and food is excellent.
The Monocle has been around a long time but they have not forgotten one important thing good service and good food. I enjoy going to the Monocle they are very friendly and helpfull.
We stopped in for an early dinner on a rainy day. The staff was friendly and attentive. Lots of atmosphere and food was very good, especially the cheesecake. Location was very close to the Capitol and Union Station.
The location makes it an 'In' place in town, but the hospitality makes it an 'Inn' place. I went here for a cocktail party with heavy appetizers. Excellent crab and tenderloin. Service was exceptional and the staff was professional. Our entrees included the crab cakes, shrimp and linguini, and the braised short ribs, and all were excellent. We enjoyed the varied wine list, and our waiter provided helpful information and some... I was afraid the entire experience would get ruined by all the political mess happening around me. I was happy and full when I left. Don't come here for the ambiance. The building is... More
The food here was phenomenally good, but the service was awful. It's a neat little place, with a lot of politicians eating and schmoozing, but for the price of the food, I expected much better service.
