You don't come to Blues Alley for the food; you come for the music. And whereas the formed is mediocre, the latter is always excellent. Food is Cajun and Creole in name and appearance only. The seasoning just isn't there.

Premier jazz club in DC although has some competition. Worth checking website for discounts on day of performances. Menu is fun to read and will not turn you off or distract you from the music. For a better view, get there a bit early for seats in the raised bar area.

Even if you don't know the artist, give it a chance. The atmosphere can't be beat! Very intimate setting with meals and bar. I suggest getting there early if there are multiple shows that night, they are very accomadating and helpful in choosing seats. The food was suprising as I expected it to be typical "bar" style food. They offer...

If you like your music up close and personal, this is the place for you! Blues Alley is a tiny supper club smack dab in the middle of an alley in Georgetown that people have been going to for decades. The tables are REALLY close together so be prepared to be cordial to your neighbor. You really go for the...

Went there to see a New Orleans Jazz band and I was suprised at the size and the tight seating. Menu looks impressive but the quality and taste of the food was just mediocre. I would of much rather went to a casual, upscale restaurant for dinner and then came to Blues Alley for the show. Next time, that's what...

I went to see Gene Bertoncini performing at the blues alley jazz club. The performance was great, the food was very tasty. They got us a front seat at the last moment, and our waiteress was nice and helpful. But, we ordered only two dishes and a glass of whine, and the price was 44 dollars, which is a little...

Here's my review in a nutshell......crowd too big, tables too small, terrible accoustics, didn't eat due to previous reviews(thank goodness) food looked awful. Come on folks....let's be real. This place needs a major renovation. How about better seating for EVERYONE, better food, make a closed alcove for the hostess and late coming guests so they can be seated discreetly and...

I would never see another event here. We went to see Stanley Jordan the last weekend in March. He was great. I had seen him before in Camden, New Jersey. The food was over priced and tasted horrible. We had the stuffed shrimp and the crab cakes. The best thing on the plate was the red beans and rice. The...
