Description: Inspired to create a casual Italian restaurant in their own neighborhood, the culinary team behind Washington, DC’s award-winning Ristorante Tosca opened the doors to Posto, “a modern Italian place to meet,” in December 2008. It is located in a beautiful, century-old building (which at one time was a car dealership!) on the newly re-energized 14th St. NW – right next door to The Studio Theater, and just steps away from P St. and its hubbub of activity. As a proud new addition to the Logan Circle neighborhood, Posto serves classic and modern Italian dishes, and is the perfect place to drop in for a cocktail and a quick bite, or a multi-course meal shared with friends. At the bar, an enomatic wine dispenser keeps up to 24 wines by the glass at the perfect temperature. A custom-built, wood-burning oven located in the back of the dining room entices guests with the smells of just-baked pizzas and focaccia.

Had reservations here for dinner, but stopped across the street at Estadio for a drink at the bar and a snack and wished we would have stayed. We found Posto to be very dark and difficult to see our food and read the menu. The speed of service was very slow. Not sure if they were trying to make us... More

We wanted to try a new restaurant and happened to walk by this place. We were quickly seated at a table for two. We ordered a bottle of wine but the waiter recommended a different wine and we gave in. It was OK but it wasn't what we wanted. Actually the bottle he recommended wasn't cold yet so he gave... More

Visited Posto with family. It was a very pleasant place for dinner, especially seated indoors by the large windows with a view of the street scene; the patio looked like fun in good weather. We started with prosciutto antipasto, quite good. I had the Branzini, which turned out to be one of the best fish dishes I've ever eaten; all... More

We have been to Posto at least 10 times and it always delivers. Very nice cheese selection, entrees I can get over and over (currently stuck on ravioli) and a nice wine selection. It has a pre-theatre crowd that we try to avoid. Also had calamari last night and was a nice surprise. Decor is plain, but fun. Do not... More

Posto is a gem! The staff / service is excellent, the pizzas are wonderful, and the homemade pastas take traditional Italian fare and add a little modern twist. More

We have eaten at Posto so many times for pre-theater ( It's next door to the Studio Theater) During the summer it offers pleasant sidewalk dining, and indoors the interior is spacious and modern, thanks to the original interior design work done by previous restaurant Viridian ,which had renovated this lovely old bank building. Posto is an authentic and very... More

EXCELLENT FOOD If I were rating Ristorante Posto on food alone, I would say it is excellent, perhaps outstanding. For some reason, I fully expected this restaurant to offer a menu of only plated dishes. However, the menu very prominently featured pizza, which struck me as unusual for the market segment I assumed the restaurant pursues. I tried the Pizza... More

This is one very busy eatery. While the food is quite good and the prices reasonable, don't expect the kind of service you might receive at a smaller, more intimate establishment. Our waiter was friendly, but obviously trying to keep too many balls in the air. Didn't ask about wine until well into the meal, the bread was hard and... More

After having lived in Italy for 4 years we appreciated the fresh and authentic approach to the menu, what wasn't so authentic though was the tension in the air put forth by the manager to turn tables! Basically a lovely meal with great wine (fairly priced by the way) was ruined with dirty looks and pressured questions for dessert, coffee... More
