If you frequent the Blue Ridge area of Virginia often, especially around Roanoke and Blacksburg, VA- you MUST try out the Homeplace Restaurant. Our son goes to Virginia Tech and raves about it all the time. My wife and I tried out the restaurant this past weekend. We were not disappointed. First of all don't be discouraged about the early... Our son had been requesting for us to go with him to this restaurant since he started at VA Tech in the fall. We had about a 45 minute wait which from the reviews seems pretty quick. The staff was incredibly efficient and the food was fantastic. We will definitely be returning. More

We love to go here for a good home style meal after church. Just make sure you time it just right on Sundays or prepare for a long wait. The roast beef and chicken are excellent. The ham is too salty for my tastes but the side dishes more than make up for it! Make sure to save room for... More

My family has been going to the Homeplace for years. It is always delicious! You will more than likely have to wait for awhile, but it is definitely worth it! The food is excellent and you will not leave hungry! They have typical family style dining with different vegetables and you can choose from different meats. They have a different... More

A very popular place, no reservations so go early for dinner and try to avoid Saturday evenings. Open only certain days of the week. Have dined there several times with family groups. Located in a huge classic farm house on a hill overlooking a beautiful valley, about as pastoral as you can find. Home style family dining, with plates of... More

This place is wonderful. You can not get a better priced meal. The endless amount of food and drinks is perfect. The wait time for this place is very quick. The only real negative thing I can say about it is that the bathroom is a little small. This place is set in the beautiful mountains of Southwest, VA. I... More

You must try this restaurant it is well worth the drive, we came from Roanoke, and worth any wait. If you are looking to not wait go on a Thursday evening. Also, a long wait is a sight of a quality product. The best homestyle food you can find. The wait may take a while but you do not have... More

I went on a trip to VA for Labor Day weekend with my family. I thought I would go to the restaurant that I "loved" a few years back when I lived in Roanoke. Let's just say it wasn't worth the wait this time. I won't return back. We waited an hour and a half, the quality in the food... More

25 minutes driving time from Blacksburg, Virginia via the back roads and a wee bit less if you take Interstate 81. You can expect to spend at least the same amount of time waiting on the porch or in the gazebo upon arrival -- then again a good number of cars in the parking lot is always a reassuring feeling...
