Stopped here for lunch on a wine tour. The lunch was past superb. The place was not busy for it was fall and lunch service had just started. Bread was fresh and crispy. The foie pate with the wine gele was really well done and not to much iron flavor. The main courses all had great seasoning and were plated... More

The reataurant, bar, tasting room and winery are contained in one large building that appears to have been constructed into the side of a hill such that very little of the building is seen from the parking area/entry. You walk down a few steps to enter the building and once in the foyer look out through the floor to ceiling... More

We ate at Cable Bay for our 6th Wedding Anniversary in February 2012 and were very disappointed. The interior is shabby and tired looking and the ambiance felt depressing. The carpet in the restaurant looked out of place and appeared warn out and dirty. It took two hours until we received our main dish, by this time we were tiddly... More

Its good, maybe its very good food, but there just wasn't any real WOW moment in the three courses we tried. For the money, it just lacked something special that left us talking about the meal. If you're paying $45 per main, you expect something special. More

A nice place to eat, specially small meze/tapas dishes and good vine. Fantastic scenic views of the vineyard and over the golf. Vine tasting in the vineshop is nice, many good vines and friendly staff More

Our lunch, complimented with a choice wine, could not have been better. The wind sculptures are not to be missed as you enjoy your meal. More

We had been to the mudbrick the day before so it was going to be hard to top that off. And that they did, the mudbrick was my favorite place to dine but now it is cable bay. Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was absolutely the most attentive I have experienced whilst in new Zealand. The menu... More

Waiheke's Saucignon Blancs are exceptional. Very little can come close to the pleasure of a great meal accompanied by a cool, crisp glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Add a dear friend and a sunny day ... very little else can come close to the pleasure of an afternoon spent at Cable Bay! More
