We came here to celebrate a special occasion (my birthday) and The Little Bistro did not disappoint. The place is tiny so booking ahead is virtually essential. The tables were small, the lighting was dim and the atmosphere was unpretentious. All of these were good things which helped the overall dining experience. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner(?),... More

This little character filled bistro continues to deliver food, service and ambience that is of the highest quality. We own a motel here in Akaroa and recommend the Little Bistro to all of our guests and we consistently receive amazing feedback. We also dine here regularly and like our business that is owner operated the Bistro is successfully run by... More

We'd wanted to try this restaurant for some time, as we had read some great reviews. We finally got the opportunity last Friday. We were told we had to arrive at 8pm. The restaurant was empty when we arrived. We ordered, and within minutes a party of around 12 people arrived, completely taking over the restaurant. It would have been... More

Delicious food and very good advice for wine to accompany various dishes. Best dishes we had were the steak for main and scallop starter - all round great though, we went twice!

Tiny little restaurant but so amazing! Service was fanastic, if you go to Akaroa then go here for sure. It was recommended to us by locals in Christchurch and so glad we went there!! Meals were devine!

Great food, great service. If you visit Akaroa, you should definitely eat at The Little Bistro. Make sure you book in advance, as it is extremely popular.

Food was fantastic and good value as well considering the quality of it. Service was good but it felt like they were juggling quite a lot and the table was a bit small. Only being picky really. We loved our evening and would come back again!

We did our NYE dinner here and were really happy we did. The food is phenomenal - creative, tasty, fresh and of good quality. The place is small, cosy and comfortable. You MUST have at least one meal here if you're in Akaroa. Reservations are a must. There are two seatings.

This restaurant would be my top choice in Akaroa. The food is faultless and for good reason, it is always popular.

Visiting from Australia. The Little Bistro was recommended to us (by our motel) and it certainly did not disappoint. As the name implies, this is a small restaurant located in the main street of this delightful French village. The food is simply to die for. Pan cooked local fish, risotto, rich chocolate desert - all superbly presented and with explosions... More
