We discovered this little gem of a restaurant half way through our two week stay in tavira. We liked it so much we returned another two times before we left, including on our last night when we came in just for dessert, coffees and a night cap! Rive Gauche is one of those restaurants that has everything in the right... More

Had an evening meal in Rive Gauche and was very pleased with the food ,service and prices. We ate outside but the decor of the interior of the restaurant looked very inviting. Our food which was two fish dishes and one pasta for mains was very tasty and nicely presented. My one complaint was that it was only possible to... More

Went to this restaurant on the basis of the reviews on trip advisor. The decor is pleasant we waited about 20minutes to place our order and it was 2 hours later before our main course arrived. I appreciate service can be slow in these restaurants but they were not overly busy. They were clearly under staffed and the poor waitress,... More

We had eaten at a few restaurants near the river but were unimpressed. So we had a look around the narrow streets for something a little different. Rive Gauche seemed to fit the bill. We sat inside as the mosquitoes were biting. It has nice decor and very pleasant staff. The menu was small but varied (usually a good sign)... More

Undeservingly quiet in early June but worth a visit. The menu shown outside does not encourage passing traffic to explore the range of food on offer here. The menu is suitably limited to speciality dishes all of which are beautifully presented and expertly cooked. The service is friendly, unpretentious, organised, efficient and helpful. The pricing is realistic and very competitive.... More

Excellent food and very nice service. We were there twice during our one week stay now in December and had both fish and meat. The Trilogi dessert was lovely. Highly recommended. When we will be back in January we certainly will go there again. More

One of the more up market places on the street, lovely decor and the food was fancier and very tasty, A bit more expensive than Briso de rio and aquasol and the prices werent really displayed outside - it was confusing and painted a pictute of being cheaper then it was. The food was really tasty - especially the prawn... More

It is located in a nice narrow street in middle of Tavira. There are a few tables outside in the street. Alternatively there are more tables inside. The interior is very modern (kind of industry chic) and urban. The ambiance is very good and waiters are friendly. They specialize in French food which is very good and might be a... More

Of all the many restaurants in Tavira this is the one where you can be assured of good dining. The menu is varied and exciting. The food is always well prepared and presented. There is a warm bohemian atmosphere, not expected in an Algarve side street. Sandrine, the owner, is a warm and enchanting Frenchwoman. Her staff are welcoming and... More
