Food and service excellent. Was a bit empty so quite quiet but the service & food was well worth the visit. Three courses with wine £32 per head fine dining standard food.

I visited Kirzia this week for my birthday celebration. I had first visited Krizia not long after it opened in the latter 1990s. The restaurant looked the same, and it had come recommended to me by a local friend.
I guess the best I can say is that my experience here was mixed. Some of the food was quite good,...

We were looking for somewhere new to go for lunch as it was my birthday - decided to try out the Krizia. It did not disappoint!
The waiter could not have been more welcoming or friendly, the food was wonderful - delicious and beautifully presented - and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. I will definitely be going back and...

It was immediately clear that our hosts cared a lot and had great pride in the quality of food, wine and service. And rightly so. Everything was just excellent.
I would like to particularly highlight the "Veal Medallions in Vinsant sauce with Goose liver" or "Duck breast in balsamic vinegar and rose-neep sauce".
My only other tip would be to...

I had the opportunity to visit this place many time and always impressed by the service and the food. Also selection of wines is great. Go there, and enjoy your stay with the best parmigiana in town if you are so lucky to get some.
We've always heard great things about Krizia so thought we'd try it for ourselves - we were not disappointed. As regulars to Budapest, we enjoy eating out.
It does have a menu which caters for high-end dining and would not suit most traveller's who travel on a budget. However, if you fancy a treat, go for it. The service was...

Beef Carpaccio: Thick, tasteless and sliced from a rectangular block of meat.
Osso Bucco: The worst I've ever had. Tough, grisly and swimming in an excess of watery polenta.
I was prepared to write this off as poor menu choices by myself.
I asked for the bill and waited.
Then In asked the owner/maitre D' for the bill who promised...

A small cozy Italian restaurant, not at all expensive with main courses ranging from 2000-3000 huf. Highly recommended!
Pros: an amazing ham starter and a very good goat cheese salad. Atmosphere is OK minus the music (see below)
Cons: hugely overpriced wine, the only Prosecco goes for 30 Euros a bottle!!!!??; two disappointing pasta dishes (e.g. a pumpkin tortelloni that was almost as sweet as a dessert and as dry as Sahara desert), and some TERRIBLE cheap '80-90s...

The three of us had a most satisfying dinner here last week. I did not feel hungry so I just ordered a primo, pappardelle with clams and mushrooms. The sause was exquisite, unforgettable. Service was forthcoming but never obtrusive, I liked it.
