This was a fascinating experience. A gypsy band accompanied but did not spoil the evening's food which was delivered in an opulent room. The food was not the best I sampled in the capital but was served with flair as the waiters removed silver lids to an enthusiastic yelp. More

We decided to eat here because they had a Gypsy orchestra listed on the blackboard out front. We were whisked into a series of opulent rooms, each more spectacular than the last, and finally were seated in a grand restaurant room. Very proper and attentive service, and the music was wonderful. The cuisine was heavy on Eastern European influence. Our food... More

Not only was the Brasserie very nice, the food was excellent. Went there for lunch. As it was our first day, Hungarian Goulash, of course. Great, seasoned waiters! More

The decor is an old chapel theme. The service is good and the food was excellent. More

I'm not sure if I ate at the same restaurant reviewed by these other people, but my wife and I very much enjoyed this place. The food was good and the service was excellent. The gypsy band just added to the atmosphere. It is a very old restaurant and has a lot of history to it. I would definitely recommend... More

Karpatia is very beutiful old and fine restaurant, and the food was good, although nothing very special. Surely worth the price. The staff is professional and pleasant. More

Good food, good service, not so good house wine. Great surroundings, looked like a converted church. More

Lovely decor, relaxing and professional staff. Food only okay. Gypsy band nice, until they come around and play music at your table, then seek for you to buy their CD. Nice wine, but pricey restaurant overall for the region. More

Walking into this restaraunt brings gasps of amazement. The garish old style opulent interior reminds me of a historical drama set in the 19th century. Its not new or themed either. It has the feel of faded glory about it. It is the sort of place, I suspect, communist apparachiks used to dine. Before them the upper classes of the... More
