This lovely restaurant is on a quiet courtyard, just off a busy pedestrian mall and right next to the Grand Food Hall. The menu had a good selection of dishes, some based on Hungarian classics, but given a modern twist. The wine list was excellent and the service was gracious, friendly and attentive. I enjoyed my first meal so much,... More

We visited this restaurant on a Tuesday night around 9.30pm. The waiter seemed almost offended when we asked whether the kitchen was still open and greeted us with a grimace when we enquired as to whether any snacks were served instead. Of course, the kitchen was closed (sorry that we assumed Hungarian restaurants have opening hours like those in the... More

Dear Hanno B, I really don’t like to write a management response like that, but I have to. It was Wednesday and well after 10 pm. You arrived and met me (not any of the waiters) and asked whether you can have a drink or not. I said certainly and showed you a table. Just after you, another 7 women... More

We went there one evening, thinking it would be easy to have a table for two but the restaurant was packed. We didn't give up and returned the next day for lunch. We enjoyed our lunch after walking around the market next door. It was worth it! Prices were reasonable : such quality in another city would definitely be more... More

The position of this restaurant is perfect for those travelers who want a good meal without the hustle and bustle of a busy street outside. It is set a few hundred meters off the main road but still very easy to find. The food is really good and the waiters' recommendation of the accompanying wine was superb

I highly recommend a visit to Borbirosag! We turned up at around 7pm on a Tuesday night and were able to get a table outside straight away. The wine was absolutely delicious, we tried white and rose and both were great. We both had goulash soup to start which was fantastic, and I can highly recommend the chicken with mushroom... More

Having read all the plaudits on Trip-advisor, I went to Borbirsag restaurant with a couple of guests but could not get a table. Undeterred we went to nearby Raday Street famous for its touristy restaurants for a glass of wine and returned an hour later and got table. The waitress highly recommended the duck breast which my companions ere happy... More

Got dinner with 2 friends. Tables outside are really nice, with blankets for ladies. Service friendly, relaxing atmosphere. I would give 7.5 to the food. Prices fair

I made a reservation as it was a Friday but need not have bothered as it was not overrun. It is not so much in the centre of things on the Pest side which might explain why not so many tourists were around, but what a find indeed! I came based on recommendations on TripAdvisor, and I'm so pleased that... More

Even though we didn't have a reservation, the service was excellent. Presentation exquisite! Better food and better prices than the places on the main tourist streets. We recommend the Goulash, the pork ragout, the butterfly fish steak, the duck breast, the cabbage with pumpkinseed oil, polenta, and the chocolate orange mouse. Reservations are recommended, for Saturday night anyway.

We stayed in Brody House Hotel (also highly recommended) and the receptionist recommended Borbirosagi. We ate here on our first night and our last afternoon. Try the Duck Burger... Great selection hungarian wine.
