This was our first meal in Prague and were we're nicely surprised. The service was fantastic, very friendly and tentative. The food was awesome and although heavier than what I am used to, I had the pork knuckle, it was sooooooo tasty! Partner had goose, also yummy. They also had some locally made wine which was also lovely. We thought... More

We'd been a bit leary of the heavy Czech food and looking for something healthy - so we were drawn to this restaurant with it's anti-aging by-line. We had wild boar and veal - soaked or cooked in beer, all very delicious in a mysterious sort of way!

Had a great time at this venue with friends. Located in a rejuvenated basement it has a cozy atmosphere. Service and language level indicates they're not too familiar with outside visitors, but we got everything we wanted - and more - through a laugh. Food wise it was more than expexted considering we were just a few steps off 'the... More

We went here after the tour guide told us that it was better than the old town tourist places and half the price. Food was good, service good and polite and lots of atmosphere even though we ate outside and watched the world go by. I had a 1/4 Confit-style Goose (leg) main and my wife had beef with dumplings.... Prague being a beautiful city, we found U Zlateho lva by accident, located in the centre of Prague, near Old Town Square and Powder Tower. The entrance was a little obscure from the street but saw a flight of stairs decorated with pictures of the food that you can get in the restaurant. The restaurant is in a gothic cellar... More

Some restaurants are awful, some are just OK but forgettable, some are average. This one falls into the category of downright memorable. Conveniently located not too far from the Old Town Square in Prague, this underground lair of a restaurant serves delicious Czech-style meals, Budvar beer, and has a nice selection of wines. My wife had pork tenderloin with a... More
