7 of us enjoyed a fantastic dining experience where the outstanding service, food and Bavarian atmosphere were complemented by unbelievable value for money. We each had 3 large beers, a large & delicious starter and main course that wouldn't have looked out of place on Masterchef. All for less than £12 each!
The Barbakan is ideally located on the main...

We visited this place because of the high reviews from this site. We are really glad we did! There was quite a large menu, with descriptions available in 5 languages (I think). There was also good beer on tap.
The restaurant has a very medieval feel to it. The service was really great, and it was a great price. We...

We walked down the stairs that lead to Barbakan restaurant as we were looking at the Valtala below us. This was our very first stop as soon as we entered Cesky Krumlov and parked at the entrance. By chance we happened to walk into one of the best restaurants that we visited in the whole Czech republic. The restaurant has...

We opted for the indoor sitting since it was getting chilly that evening. During warmer weather, the terrace offers a nice view of the river. If you want to have an authentic, traditional Czech cuisine, Barbakan is a good place to visit. We enjoyed mix cuts of pork steak, sausage, pork ham broiled on the hearth oven. The dish came...

Perfect food and super friendly service at a very good price.
I just returned from a great dinner at this restaurant. I went with five other people and we were all very happy with our food. Three of us had fish that came in fresh just a couple of hours before our arrival. The owner was very helpful and the service was warm.
There is a great terrace with a lovely...

Was a little hard to find but well worth the search. Fantastic little medieval style restaurant. The food is barbequed in front of you in an old style oven and served on long wooden candle-lit tables. Like stepping back in time. Fantastic quality too (one of the best meals of our trip). Just add a large Czech beer or two...

All though a bit tricky to find (gps-coordinates on tripadvisor is completely wrong for this one) it was well worth the struggle. The food was delicious and prepared in front of us over an open fire. Prices are extremely good for the quality of food, and half a liter of beer is 26 czk. We would absolutely like to recommend...

This wonderful little restaurant is a great place to enjoy a hearty traditional Czech meal, with meat cooked over an open fire. Located at the top end of the main street in the old town in a cosy cave like building (there also appears to be an outdoor patio offering superb views in warmer weather). Not a place to go...
