I must compliment the staff at this restaurant for making it such a nice experience. The mamager of the restaurant waited on us during the evening and he was excellent. Table for three at the last minute on Thursday. We had the tasting. Amazing. Though they did forget about us for the first half hour... Overheard the waiters talking. Okay, it's not a cheap night out, but I believe Jacques Reymond sets the standard for service in Melbourne. The restaurant is in an old period mansion on Williams Rd in Prahtan. The deco is beautiful & elegant. There is good spacing between the tables do you can have a conversation. My friend took me here for my birthday dinner ... and what a dinner it was! The tasting menu with the paired wines was divine. My favorite was the Morton Bay Bug, and the wallaby (I love that I got to taste a wallaby!!!). Everything was perfectly cooked and the service was impeccable. Two thumbs up :)

Don't get me wrong. This is one of the finest dining experiences one can partake of in Australia. Certainly Jacques Reymond deserves 3 hats from the self appointed Fairfax Dining Judges. Other restaurant owners should have a good look at Jacques Reymond to see how its done. The attentive service, good cutlery and tableware and continual upgrading of the premises defines professionalism in an industry beset by fly by nighters and seat of the pants operators. From the moment you walk in the door until you leave, you are well looked after and the food is outstanding. Well deserved ranking and can't fault this place

There is no equal in Australia. The quality, service, imagination and innovation keeps us coming back. At least once in your life - make sure you have treated someone special to a Jaques Reymond dining experience!
