Stylish little cafe restaurant, modern decor, looked so cosy and inviting on a cold night that we were lured in by lamb shank in red wine with mash on the specials board. Food took about 45 mins to come out, though cafe was not that busy. Lamb shank was average - tender but quite fatty and mine was lukewarm at... More

This was recommended to us as a cafe not to miss....but unfortunately after we ate here we walked up the hill to the corner and there was another cafe that was really rocking and we wished we'd eaten there. I can't remember what I ate at Elaia so I guess that says something. Nothing terrible, just wouldn't go back. More

Just did a local hotel review so i suppose it only just to review one of my favorite haunts when i visit Launceston. Almost becoming a "must do" when i visit Launceston, Elaia was one of the very first cafes in what is now the Charles St "cafe strip" and now boldly sits among numerous cafes and food outlets in... We had the scotch fillet steak here. Very nice indeed. The roasted potatoes were small cubes - a bit disappointing. Portion could have been bigger too. Nice atmosphere - would go back. More

Hello and thankyou for your recent feedback regarding your dining experience in December. Firstly I would like to point out that we don't actually make milkshakes. On our beverages menu we offer Flavoured Milk which is essentially a shot of flavour syrup on ice topped up with milk. Therefore I can understand your disappointment in us not fulfilling your expectations... More

We arrived in Launceston after a long drive so were tired but were soon revived by some excellent pizzas and friendly, obliging staff. Would have gone again if we had had more time. More

Hi Macrowepb, Thankyou so much for your feedback. I agree. One hour is way too long for a simple breakfast. I would not like that to happen to me either least of all in my own establishment. As a result of your feedback, we are in the process of fine tuning our customer service strategies to avoid situations like this... More
