Seems to me that some reviewers are getting mixed up between the 3 GC ChiangMai locations ; I am writing about the stand alone - single storey building on GC H'way at Broadbeach which we visited 2 weeks ago. Also, it seems perverse to criticise an operation, in a tourist location, which is owned / managed and largely staffed by... More

We make it our mission to visit Changmai Thai (on the Gold Coast highway) everytime we are in Surfers. From reading recent comments of Changmai thai we were a little bit reluctant to visit again due to some negative feedback, however due to our loyalty we would visit again during our Holiday vacation. Fantastic food!!! Great service!!! Excellent atmosphere!!! Well... More

I have been here a few times when staying at Mantra Bel-Air as its at the bottom of the hotel, this is such a beautiful restaurant with traditional sparkling gold decor and carvings and the ladies dress in the traditional Thai Silk dresses. Even the cutlery is gorgeous with ornate elephants carved into it ! Its these little details that... More

This would be our favourite restaurant. The ladies dressed in silk dresses, the decorations and the stunning meal make this place a top place to go to. More

We have gone to this restaurant many times and everytime we find that standards are slipping. The service is good however the food is not as good as it used to be. I ate a fish fillet that had many bones and the sweet and sour sauce was so strong, almost unable to eat it, same thing happened to my... More

We have dined at change Mai several times but the most recent time being Friday night was pretty average,we ordered crab roll which was bland and flavorless and Chiangmai sausage which was forgotten, meaning our main arrived at the table before our second entree, the prawns were nice as usual And we do like the fact that its byo but probably won't... Large Thai restaurant, nice decor, friendly service and great food. Favourites were the Thai steamed Dim Sim for entrée and the red curry was a lovely main, however if you like it hot please ask for this because it is served mild, medium at best. Still very tasty just giving anyone the heads up who really craves a hot curry.... More

We went to the one under the Sierra Grand in Broadbeach and have been back 4 or 5 times in the year. This is easily the best Thai in the area so worth the short walk away from the main tourist strip (this one is just opposite Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast highway). The Crab fried rice is lovely... We arrived with about 20 people and no booking on a Saturday night. We had just finished a day at an Internet Conference. Chiangmai staff were able to provide a table within about 20 minutes and then provided some of the nicest Thai Food I have ever tasted. The setting is fantastic, the food is fantastic and the staff are... More
