Because of past reviews, we decided to take the bus out to this winery because it sounded easy. YES it is only a 15-minute ride, but if you’re coming from Queenstown (for instance, from the Copthorne/Millennium bus stop) , you will need to transfer from the #11 to the #10 bus at Frankton AND this ONE-WAY trip will cost you... We head down to Queenstown every year for the Queen's Birthday holiday. Lunch at Amisfield Bistro has always been part of the weekend. It won't be this year. The setting is lovely and the food is wonderful - the hard bits to get right, you would think - but they've lost the plot when it comes to service and quantity.... More

My husband and I came here to buy some wine as we had heard good things and have some lunch. The restaurant was very busy, but looked good. We didn't end up eating as we were completely turned off by the rude man working in the tasting room. Firstly, charging so much for tastings is odd - $12 for 6... More

If you are a foodie, this is the winery not to miss. The food is spectacular, the views outstanding. The wines are fantastic. I would suggest the degustation dinner as suggested by the chef - a real treat. I will be back More

We were looking for something a little special for a meal out in Queenstown, and this was a great choice. On a cool evening with a roaring fireplace, we had some amazing food on the 'Trust the Chef' menu including bluff oyster with champagne pearls, sugar cured salmon, monkfish & roast beef. The almond flour chocolate cake was amazing too.... More

Locals love Amisfield and it was easy to tell when we dined one Saturday night. The last sitting here is at 6pm due to licencing restrictions and it meant that there were still a few large family groups finishing up as we started. I imagine it's a stunning place to be for a long Sunday lunch, although if you're looking... More

Called in for a tasting, admittedly there was a "Sale" on so they were busy, nobody greeted us, we asked for a taste of two of the wines, the charmless man behind the counter in the tasting room was almost rude but didn't really engage enough to be rude, obviously didn't want to be there, behaved as if he owned... Have been to Amisfield several times over the past few years and are never disappointed. Their 'trust the chef' option combined with some of their excellent wines is a great way to have lunch in beautiful surroundings. More
