Weren't feeling like dinner until late when we remembered the great tapas menu we had walked past. Glad we didn't feel like dinner. The tapas was some of the best we have had, right up with Movida in Melbourne. Had the Pork Belly, lamb, chorizo and potatoes with spiced nuts to finish. All dishes were amazing, particularly the chorizo and... More

The restaurant and bar is within the original stone building, small and intimate with about 6 or 7 tables. A stylish dining room befitting the hotel with a view of Lake Wakatipu. We stayed in the hotel so managed to try their dinner menu and breakfast. Dinner is a tapas menu. I would rate our tapas meal as one of... More

We called in here a couple times, once for late afternoon drinks and tapas, and the other occasion just drinks around midday awaiting our flight home. This is a lovely cosy location with a fire, overlooking the lake. There is an extensive wine list, although the 'by the glass' options were limited. The staff took our coats on arrival and... More

The restaurant was very nice, first come first serve for seating. The bartenders are friendly and their food is very nice. They are small tapas style plates so don't be too hungry. The food and drinks are expensive, but it's nice. The only complaint was that they charged us an extra 15% because of Easter. Well, there were other bars... More

After setting the bench mark for many years, Eichardts has gone downhill big time. Change of ownership needs to change again, otherwise it will disappear off the radar altogether. Lunch was average to say the least. The fire wasn't stoked on a cold day, the floor needed vacumed, the waiter was lack luster and the menu was lean. The waiter... More

We wanted to try out the famous seafood chowder others were raving about. We came for light lunch because we were going out for dinner that night so we asked to share.
