We had a great handle of local beer here. The open fire was really inviting but there were only 2 comfy seats and they were both taken. We thought more could be made of the cosy atmosphere with more couches or comfy chairs instead of canteen style seating, but overall we liked this little bar and the food looked great.... More

Discovered the Craic while looking for somewhere to eat on a very wet Dunedin night. Lured by the sight of a cosy fire we ordered the fish & chips which were OK if a bit on the expensive side. Unfortunately our table was right underneath the speakers & the music was very loud which made conversation difficult. Waitress was pleasant... More

Went to the Craic a couple of times during my week in Dunedin with my partner. First time had lunch of their Seafood Chowder which was very yummy (was a bit surprised a couple of days later to have the same chowder next door at the Thistle Cafe - bought in by the same waitress!). My partner was keen to... More

A nice place in heart of Dunedin where is possible to eat and drink. A good choise of drinks, some dishes for lunch or dinner. The quality of food is good and also the service is ok. Late in the evening is also possible to listen live music...and can be hard to talk with friends.

Food good! Lamb shanks beautifully cooked and yummy gravy sauce and mash potatoes. Was very excellent for Bar Meals! (see other good food reports) Sorry we we couldn't say the same for the Bar Manager and waitress not very friendly, felt like they didn't want to be working as it was a public holiday. Bar Manager was quite rude with... More

We were recommend by our bnb host about this place for sea platter and it was true enough that the portion was pleasing enough and we truly enjoyed our meal with their local beer (cant recall name). Strongly recommend if you do not wish to blend in the loud music and ppl in the next few pub or restaurant.

After a long day's shopping in the rain there was a warm welcome at the Craic where we meet the boys for a drink. As the food was coming out to other customers, it looked and smelled so good we all decided to have dinner there. Our own meals were not a disappointment, they were a good feed, the order... More

We have been to the Craic a few times now and the food has never disappointed us. The chips and onion rings are the best I've had so far. Very crispy but not greasy. We ha a table of 3 adults and 1 child in our recent visit and the food and service was delightful. We ordered fish and chips,... More
