What has happened, used be great food and service. NOT any more, very bad meal and service. Could tell my lamb shank was deep fried and mash potatoes were made of powder! Fish special was terrible, dry and had no taste. Kids meal was average, we could have done better at home. Was funny later on that evening, friday night,... More

Been a recent change of staff, which you soon found out. Yes they were very nice and it takes time to learn. It was quite busy, with a decent menu. My wife had a steak which was a bit chewy. I had the lamb shank which was good, unfortunately the mash potatoes where made from powder. They did give us a discount... More

We had a special visit, arranged through our time share. The van was driven by the owner, who explained the changes that had been going on the past year, including changing chefs and serving staff. Our experience was that he got it right! Our server was from Colorado, and new to New Zealand; but very enthusiastic, and waiting for the... More

We went here at Chistmas and again when I returned at Easter. My friend goes everytime he visits. The food is superb, staff are v friendly and the atmosphere is great. Highly recommended.

We were highly recommend by our Hosts of a local B&B and we can honestly say it was the worst food and restaurant experience ever. I am shocked by so many good reviews of this place! Our hosts said go here as it was most defiantly not "Pub Grub", well I can say it was worse! The service was tacky... More

This was recommended to us by the hostess at our B&B. The place is very friendly and welcoming and serves some really good relatively inexpensive food. Quite casual, but provided a gastro-pub experience.

Menu offers good choice, the food was very good, staff were excellent - friendly without being intrusive. Restaurant is away from the city centre in a quiet neighbourhood with no traffic noise. A lovely place to go for a meal, a just super outdoors on the deck in summer.

I was told that the Mole & Chicken served the best fish and chips in Taupo - well I haven't tried any anywhere else so I can't comment - but I can tell you that the fish and chips here are great! As is the pork belly that I had on my second visit! This is a lively but relaxed... More

Cliff and his team welcomed us at the door and the great service and wonderful food continued from entree to dessert. Real friendly atmosphere yet privacy when you required it. Great place in a surburban location plenty of parking. Give this place a go you will not be disappointed, a real gem.
