We dined there on a quite mid-week evening and had a super evening. The view is fantastic, particulary at sunset and the quality of the meal more than matched the view. I had carpacio of venison to start and rack of lamb as a main, both were excellent, but the lamb won! My wife had duck to start followed by... More

We decided to celebrate our anniversary in Aorangi Peak Restaurant and it was amazing! The atmosphere was romantic, beautiful view of Rotorua, food was a little bit expensive but it was so worth it, tasted amazing! More than that the staff surprised us by bringing the desserts that had "Happy anniversary!" written on the plates and by offering us complimentary... More

We're looking at houses up Mountain View Rd, when we decided to drive to the top to look at the view. Once there we remembered there was an exclusive resturant at the Deer Lodge (Aorangi Peak). Much to our delight we saw a sign at the end of the drive saying they were open for coffees during the day time.... More

Our son's wedding was held here last weekend and my wife and I are delighted how it went. Every guest I spoke to afterwards said it was fantastic and loved the venue. During preparations, the owner Paul was a gentleman, accommodating us to make the day special. We had set ideas how the venue should look so we chose to... More

Recommended this restaurant by the owner of our motel. The food was excellent, a large range of wine list, very friendly service and panoramic view of Rotorua (I didn't recognize the city wasn't small and so beautiful) Worth every dollar. Best in Rotorua. Must visit.

Wow, how this plce has taken a dive!!!!....from dead flies on the floor to a dusty knife box!!!...The standard has absolutely gone down a "steep" hill...we were briefly explained the menu and not to what should be expected, basically only being told what the soup was and then the wiater left...not even asking if we were wanting drinks or wanting... The Aorangi Peak unfortunately reinforces the stereotype that a restaurant with a fantastic view very rarely has food to match. I first visited the restaurant in 1985 when it was brand new. Perched high on a hill far away from Rotorua, it had a spectacular view of the town, lake and surround countryside. The atmosphere and food were special, but... More

My family went out here for dinner to celebrate a birthday. Looking at the restaurant online it looked very appealing and beautiful. When arriving to the restaurant the overall presentation from the outside was a mess. The Restaurant its self smelt horrible like it had been shut up for a few months. Canapes to start with were probably the only... More

This restaurant is a total rip off. We recently had dinner with four other friends before Xmas (2012). The evening was stunning so we sat outside for pre dinner drinks. The cushions were not on the furniture and when we found them in a pile they were all ripped. A dog came bounding out from the kitchen area and jumped... More
