The only drawback about writing a further positive review about this wonderful Chinese restaurant is that it makes it really difficult to get a table because EVERYONE wants to go and experience it for themselves. That's not going to change my opinion though - the food continues to its always high standards - the atmosphere is buzzing and the staff,... More

The friendly folk at King Wah, being practically the only Chinese restaurant for miles, make this restaurant all the more welcoming. While the kitchen and menu aren't anything to write home about, the whole place has a very family cozy feeling due to its smiling staff. My son and I caught some fish off Paihia and they happily prepared the... More

Our favourite place to eat out. We go there at least once a week. We are always well looked after by Winsom, Maling, Newton & Jessie. The buffet is excellent - lots of choice. We are also very partial to the Hot and Spicy Squid from the a-la-carte menu. We have no hesitation in recommending anyone to King Wah.

Enjoyed eating here particularly the Russell oysters after having tried Bluff oysters in Bluff some days earlier. Also it was a pleasure to meet the Foo Chow family running it.

Yummy - good value for price. At more oysters that what we would have paid for at the fleamarket! Get in quick though the place fills up quickly as very popular with the locals

We stumbled across this place whilst trying to find a restaurant that had a gluten free selection (my wife is a coeliac). The waiter advised against the buffet as soy is used in the cooking, but said that anything on the menu could be made gluten free. This is excellent service. The others in the group (3) all had the... More

Ordered a takeaway as we had a busy day. Delicious meal. Our children who are fussy eaters commented how much they liked the food.

Absolutely love this restaurant. We drive from kerikeri to get Chinese here. The food is always delicious and there is lots of variety. Seems quite expensive but you don't need entree dessert etc so isn't actually too bad - most mains are $25-$30 everywhere now. Also take our visitors here and never had a complaint.

Great fish and chips for those not into Chinese. I had a fabulous seafood combo - oysters, prawns etc. none of the seafood was overlooked. I'm not a garlic fan ... And chef is heavy handed with it ... But pretty good food. Beware - the serves are quite large ... Well, larger than we get in Australia.

Was surprised that the Chinese food was good at the place which also sells fish and chips! I took takeaway from there and the chicken in black bean sauce was very good.
