We were recommended this restuarant, and even though the place was packed, we must of got there at the right time, as about half an hour later people could not find seats inside the hotel itself, and had to sit out side. The food was great and the service was good as well, considering the amount of people that were... More

Visited Docklands and found James Squires at the end of the boardwalk. Beautiful outlook back towards the city- indoor and outdoor seating. Simple pub menu. Lamb shank was divine- meat fell off the bone, served with a simple potato mash. My husband had the seafood linguini - lots of calamari, fish and prawns in a creamy sauce. Big meals in... More

Second mortgage to buy a pint. Nice stuff, but too pricey.

Nice pub tucked away in Docklands with a view of the water and great James Squire beers. Perfect before or after a visit to the football or on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Reasonable pub grub such as dips, fries, steak sandwich or fish and chips. Avoid ordering the Spiced Golden Meatballs - $13.50 for two meatballs!

I was very excited to go to James Squire for a lovely pub style meal for lunch one Friday with some work colleagues, but my experience wasn't fantastic. Firstly, we only get an hour for lunch so we rang at 11am to place our order and told them what time we would arrive (1.10pm as we were walking straight from... More

If I hadn't been starving, I would have sent my food back. They took ages, got my order wrong and chargede an arm and a leg for the privaledge. Good beer though - and the best priced pints I've seen for a while in Melbourne.

If you want to pay a Kings Ransom for poor food and unapologetic service, then go here! With soggy day old salad, flavourless fish, overcooked steak, soggy onion rings, and undercooked chips, as well as a special order of no jalepeno on the dish, only to find them in abundance in our order. My best advice would be for the... More

After enduring a horrid experience at Rydges Hotel (don't go there!) we really needed a nice night out and got it at James Squire. We liked the ambience from the second we stepped in and the staff were exceptionally friendly and genuine. The service was speedy and the food excellent. We felt like a plain old fashioned meal - steak... More
