This venue is huge- & usually crowded as the prices are very reasonable. However you can't enjoy the company of the people you came with because you can't hear them it is so noisy. No problems with the staff who were friendly, but our pizzas were average- could have been less fatty
The place is huge and they do parties and large groups. The food is ok not that tasty and the amount of food is toooooo much. The pizza is average and the pasta is better than the pizza. The cleanness is under expected. Overall it's ok, I don't recommend and I won't go back again.
the food was very cheap and there were massively wasteful helpings which were very average tasting, I wouldn't recommend it
The portion size is huge but the quality is slightly lacking. There are better pizza joints but if you are after a huge blow out then this is the place.
What a great restaurant, you never leave hungry, nine times out of ten always leave with plenty for the next days lunch and dinner the serves of food are enormous and the quality of the food is fantastic,, need to be more of the restaurants around.
My 3rd visit in 2 years - 2 reviews later, i was dragged here by overseas relatives whom swear its the good value for money. Obviously they don t frequent Lygon St and only have fast food pizzas takeaways before.
My verdict has not been changed - it is so different from years gone by and going further downhill (however...

Sofia has always been one of the top options for our Church gatherings. We have come in a group of 30-40 people. It has always been fine with the food & service. It is vegetarian friendly too.
I am very annoyed to be served PROCESSED CHICKEN MEAT in the pasta instead of chicken breast meat. Big serving but very poor quality food. Caesar salad with chicken, the chicken was over grilled and hard, poached egg instead of being poached I believed it was microwaved, overfills and hard. Cos lettuce leaves are old and why bother putting the...

It's a good restaurant for family and group of friends. Their price is reasonable and with quite a big portion compared with other restaurant. Make sure you are very hungry to order a dish for yourself otherwise share with others (if you don't mind). Their sofia's spaghetti is tasteless.
