We arrived to a pack house- the place is pumping, we were about to leave when one of the staff approached us & said if we care to wait 5 min they would get us a table- they did not disappoint approx 5... Been going here for years when in Melbourne but the hype seems to have gone to theirs heads! Went for coffee on our first day and yes it was the best we have had in a very long time. The service was also great but they were quiet at the time. Went back for breakfast a couple of days later... More

I love St Ali's. Unfortunately so do more and more other people, which can make getting a table at the weekends a bit of a challenge. However the wait is easily eased by grabbing one of their amazing take-away coffees, conveniently set up across the lane. Once inside, the menu selection is outstanding, and the food is fresh and extremely... More

Recommended by our apartment owner and not the easiest to find but well worth the search. OUTSTANDING coffees and the food is well ahead of the standard fare of so many cafes. Great service too More

Went for coffee and desert with some friends of mine who had been here before. The atmosphere was awesome, the owner and staff are very friendly, and they make a great coffee. St Ali's deserts are unique, and know how to make it work. Well done More

Try my mexican cousin or my mexican second cousin! Coffee is beautiful. Cool grunge setting, service is generally sensational. More

The much reviewed St Ali has v good coffee although I tend to think the hype pushes the expectation up so much that it's a pretty big ask for them to meet the high hurdle. Be prepared to que most of the time also (which is fine if you like doing that sort of thing). More

a friend showed me this place after i had been complaining about lack of good cafes and restaurants in south melbourne. i quite like the place, has a good feel even if it is full of pretentious hipsters. the coffee is good, the food i would rate mid range for breakfast but better than most other options in the area....
