You have not had tempura until you have had tempura at tempura hajime! Beautiful food. Amazing sushi and a great range of excellent wines and sake to match. A hidden gem.

This is such a lovely little restaurant....we've been twice - once with the original chef and again this year with the new chef Shigeo. Fresh ingredients and very well cooked. New and exciting concept for Melbourne. I loved the zen/minimalistic decore. Unfortunately, the progression of flavours was not well planned (calmari at the end of the course?) The amount of food was too little (they need to add more non-tempura food if need be). Pure fresh ingredients, crisp subtle flavours. Begins with A-grade sashimi & cold appetizers. Each tempura is served course by course to savour. Dessert ( smooth yoghurt jelly - a pannacotta really) rounds up the entire experience.

This is like real Japanese tenpura restaurant! I feel like in Japan and vert comfirtable for me! Food is excellent! They provide us best quality sashimi!

This is an outstanding place. You can't fold the food or the services. But consider yourself warn book well ahead of time, as of Nov 2007 it was booked out up to Jan 08. It worth the wait plan ahead..
