What a great little place in China Town - only a few doors down from Swanston Street. Inexpensive and tasty fare. We enjoyed the Seafood Nasi Goreng and Chicken Sambal. Will definitely go back!

I'm had quite a love affair with Sambal Kampung over the last 6 months and have consistently eaten her once a week for either dinner or lunch. This place has found the sweet spot with super tasty Malaysian cuisine, perfect portions and very speedy service. An excellent place to eat solo too.

On the way back to the hotel after going to the theatre we saw Sambal Kampung and decided to go and eat there the next day. The lunch menu had many dishes that we wanted to try so we had starters and main. Great tasting food. Went back twice more during our stay.
