The place to go if you enjoy Japanese food. The sashimi was super fresh and very tasty as was the tempura and soft shell crab rolls. Took me on a trip down memory lane back to Japan. Service was efficient and food arrived promptly and very well presented.

We booked on a Sunday evening, great location, however the atmosphere was a little lacking. The sashimi plate was amazing, although our second meal was a little disappointing. Service was a little slow, but when the staff were attending to you, they were very helpful. Pricing was very reasonable

We always eat at Chocolate Buddha when we visit Melbourne. The location is great for people watching - smack bang in the middle of Federation Square. The restaurant is made up of long communal tables and long benches along the windows (these are the best place to sit for people watching). As well as the sushi and sashimi being amazing,... More

Food was good but not great but the atmosphere was wonderful. We took our meal outside on a beautiful night. The tables were quite close together and we had a wait a while to get a table. Service was fast. The Udon noodles seem to be the favorite dish in our group

had a lunch with work colleagues, most people had food that they described as OK. No standout meals. Reasonable price though

If you don't mind sharing large tables with strangers the food was great and service fine. Great for lunch.

Not at the end of my meal, which was balanced just right. This place feels like it should be a tacky tourist haunt, on Fed Square, near the Yarra, just across from Flinders St Station. But it doesn't. The communal tables work, and on the Friday Night I was there, it was full of people who looked like they lived... More

Ate at Chocolate Buddha on a busy Saturday night. Service was prompt and the meals were delicious. We had a range of dishes, all of which were beautifully presented. Cocktail list had a good range- the sake cocktails were fab.

Can't go past the poached salmon in miso with noodles. Simple fresh and filling. Sake on the side doesn't hurt at this modern Japanese establishment overlooking Federation Sq
