This is a restaurant to savour. If you are English, I suggest you forget exchange rates otherwise your meal will be ruined.... However, once over this shock everything else is stunning. The views are spectacular and the arrival through the wine cellar is an occasion in itself. The service and description of the food add to the experience and although... More

We had eaten 4 years' previously at VdM and found it superb, but its new location seems to have gone to its head. the 10 course degustation meal was just too long and too elaborate. although some individual dishes were stunning, the same could not be said of every course; we had the chef's table, but could see little else... I've been to better places and they have cost a lot less. The vegetatian degustation is charged at the same price as the regular one and this leaves a bitter taste (compare a dish focused on beetroot with my friend's wagu for example)...It is an experience but it costs so much more that anywhere else in Melbourne the food doesn't... It was good but I found it more art than food, like they lost sight of the fact that it's about food primarily, presentation is secondary or equal. Presentation was fabulous, but taste was hit and miss. I much prefer the degustation at Jacques Reymond and Grossi Fiorentino myself. Excellent taste and presentation. More

Had dinner here on 10/2/12 for the first time at the Rialto after reading about it so many times as Melbourne's best restaurant. Will provide a very detailed review since I just got home! Went to reception of ground floor of the Rialto and enquired about my reservation - lady was pleasant and walked us to the lift. Was impressed... More

We recently had a birthday dinner at Vue de monde. The service was outstanding, extreamly professional. The food was the best i have ever had. If you are into fine dining and fine fare you have to go here. It is well worth the money. More

Vue de Monde has been an all-time favoutire of mine and my husband. We've been numerous times for special occassions, taken international guests and local friends. We would always be amazed at the creativity and theatre behind each and every dish, not to mention how delicious the food was. We rencently went back to Vue de Monde in their new... More

We had lunch this week at Vue. We had been to the two previous incarnations of this great restaurant so I was looking forward to this visit. I was not disappointed. Mouthwatering food. Perfect wines. Top View. Excellent Service. ($250 degustation accompanied by a minimum $150 wine selection). I - hopefully unnecessarily - felt some concern for Mr Bennett -... More
