The space that this restaurant sits in is an amazing open warehouse. It is very warm inviting and very professional in its approach. We were a party of 2 so we couldn't book (tables under 6 persons cannot) but turning up we got lucky and were sat at the bar where we enjoyed our dinner whilst watching the staff weave... More

I had high expectations of Longrain due to its reviews by other users, but I was very disappointed. The dishes were a little too sweet in my opinion, and the meat was too tough. We were a party of four, and we couldn't continue eating after a few bites of each dish. Very very disappointing. On a positive note though,... More

I expected a lot and was left feeling totally ordinary. The food is ok and with a larger group you can book (otherwise, I certainly would not have been cuing). Wine glasses without stems don't do it for me and would only seem to benefit the restaurant. They add even more to the feeling of eating in a shopping mall.... More

I like the way Longrain has shared tables so that you meet different people each time you go there. The food and service is great but not cheap.

The food and service was incredible. Was a little worried about the fact that we were sat at a communal bar but this added to the experience. Not sure about the stemless wine glasses but a new trend must be tried.

Great fusion Asian food. So great we went back 2 nights during a 3 night stay. Communal table style was fine and fun. But get there early if you can as if fills up quick after opening and there are no bookings for 2 people. Enjoy, we did.

This is my favorite restuarant in Melbourne. Being both coeliac and vegetarian can be a challenge eating out but Longrain does it with ease. Staff are fully informed and able to seamlessly handle my dietary challenges whilst the meal is always absolutely superb. And try the chilli vodka!

Took my husband here as a great. Great service, and we liked the shared tables. Gave us a good indication of what the food would be like. We enjoyed the meals. Good portion sizes and lovely to share. The twice cooked chicken was lovely. The only thing I could say was that we wish there had been more goo in... More

Deservedly popular - very interesting food with very strong flavours in the couple of dishes that we tried. It runs at a fast pace but the serice was attentive and friendly. We'll go again.

Dined here on Thursday night. The food was brilliant and for a top class restaurant not overpriced. Staff were great and knowledgeable which led to a great night. The whole trout and grilled angus beef dishes were a standout as were their betel leaf entree's. Just remember no reservations for couples so we recommend dining early or you might have... More
