Buzzing little cafe, in a convenient location. Good coffee, quick and pleasant service. Those couch seats are rather uncomfortable though,. Tables are great.

We only dropped in for coffee as it's one of the places we like to visit when in Melbourne. The staff are great and the food looks fantastic. We only had coffee this trip but it was very good.
Well executed and satisfying food with enough difference to hit the spot.
The journal is hidden next to the City Library. It has great atmosphere, service and food. The big communal tables as are the bar stools. Definitely worth a visit. Check out the awesome Melbourne City Library while you're there!
Love the soba noodles at the Journal and the atmosphere is always brilliant. Not great for groups of 3+ people as the seating is very restricted but great for single/couple parties :)
We had breakfast here in the weekend on recommendation from a friend and thought it was fantastic. It was a bit hard to spot from the street as it was up a few stairs with a subtle sign outside but so worth it once we found it. Coffee was excellent and breakfast outstanding and really reasonable. Service was great, nice...

Trendy little place along Melbourne's Cobblestone Streets for a morning coffee and lite breakfast/early lunch
Love the atmosphere there!
Weekday solo 'me time' lunch spot. I sit down to Bruschetta with ricotta and proscuitto, and a soy latte served in a white teacup.
the place is small, yet cosy. however the food was falling short of what i was expecting
