I suggest getting in early as there are no reservations ant the Vege Bar is very Popular but if you do arrive late there is a bar out the back where you can wait... and trust me it's worth the wait!

First time visit with my partner - I am veggie and he isn't. Place was packed and seems like they have crammed in a few too many tables for the space. Atmosphere was buzzing but felt like we were being rushed to make an order ( less than 5 minutes after sitting down) and like they were trying to turn... More

I love the food although I am a meat eater. It's very fresh and delicious and the staff are quirky and usually pretty nice. It's very loud and crowded but hey some people like that.

Loads of yummy vege and vegan options and all with generous servings. Great vibe and very popular, but the efficient staff always seem to find you a seat. I have a couple of blogs that might be of interest. The first is on some fab Melbourne cafes my wife and I visited, all on our bikes; http://spottedatespressomelbourne.wordpress.com/category/good-food/ and the second... More

the non-availability of booking is just annoying. this place is constantly busy but the service hasn't kept up with its sudden rise in popularity over the past year and a half. food is good and wholesome but the fact that you have to wait at least half an hour on any given weekday is a little ridiculous. oh and the... The food here is fantastic for all, fantastic for a snack and a fantastic place to start your Melbourne experience if new to the city. Have your yummy food and beverages here (and a people watch) then walk around one of the best and most vibrant areas melbourne has to offer. The burrito is an all time favourite and is... More

Great spot with vibrant atmosphere.. perfect for a snack or lunch while on brunswick st. prices are extremely reasonable and the food tastes alive with freshness. Vegetarians will go crazy for this place but its great for anyone.

The Vegie Bar is an institution that still keeps the punters coming and once you go it's not hard to see why! Sure, it's not for people who want a quiet dining experience or itty bitty neat plates of food and some dishes are a bit more 'knocked togther' than others but nonetheless they serve very tasty, invariably healthy, great...
