I visited lemongrass restaurant on Lygon St. along with my family friends yesterday. The decor and ambiance was really very soft and relaxing with mood lighting inside. Mr Michael, the manager of this restaurant was really very polite and hospitable. The service is very prompt. Nice relaxing way to unwind the day. Tried the Red & Green Curry, Roasted Chicken... The concierge recommended Longrain but no Thai food there (more like a fusion?). I mean not one dish was real Thai. You guessed it! I'm Thai, born just south of border so used to crossing over for real Thai since I was a little baby. So we took a cab driver's advice and ended up in an "Italian street". Thai... More

Lemongrass is a great place for exquisite food, good unpretentious vibes, and really good cocktails. Good wines as well. We settled on beers and cocktails and then chose an inexpensive local pinot ($30.00). Good too, as good the dearer ones we’ve had in our journey. The food was of course the highlight. I can eat those prawn lettuce wraps and... More

I was there 12 years ago when it reopened in new premises and I returned last month. The food was great then and just as good or better now. The curries here are all hand made; you can tell how fresh it is if you've eaten a lot of Thai curries. They even have the famous roast curry, Indian style,... More

We had 9 for dinner. the service was great, we were seated promptly and cheerful hostess. we had to wait a bit to get drinks but once settled in they were very attentive. Everybody rated their food as excellent, with mixed entrees a bit of a hit. can be very spicy unless you ask how hot it is. I keep... More

Wow. We had the banquet for two because we struggle to make good decisions under pressure. The green curry was fantastic, the red one zingy and fresh and the lemongrass chicken actually stopped me and my partner in our tracks. We sat without chewing, savouring the flavour and staring at each other with a "holy crap how good is this?"... More

This has a feeling of a place that used to be really good years ago but is now past its best. It proclaims to be Melbourne's most awarded Thai restaurant. However, the fact that the fantastic newspaper reviews on the outside window are from 2001/2002 says it all. The food was actually pretty good, however it is expensive and not... More
