This was my second visit to La Notte. The variety of selection on the menu at La Notte leaves me spoilt for choice as practically every menu item sounds delicious. http://www.lanotte.com.au/menus/1/mains I went for a traditional chicken parmigiana which was of an excellent quality and taste without being too heavy. I can't wait to return to try the other items... More

It is frustrating that the experiences at La Notte can vary as much as Melbourne weather. Sometimes it's spot on with great food and service, other times the staff and don't seem to care, stand around and show no initiative. It always good if the owner is sitting out the front, which in my experience makes things even more frustrating... More

The food was excellent and it was great to be able to buy our own bottle of wine from the shop. We sat outside and had a lovely evening. However the highlight was the very friendly and high quality service, which created an authentic atmosphere. More

We went there as it had a grilled seafood platter and we were tired of fried food. I am so glad we did the food was so enjoyable and the value for money was good especially for fresh seafood. We took our two young boys and they seated us at a table that was a little bit away from other... More

I enjoyed my seafood marinara but my husband's trout was not as fresh and tasty as it should have ben. We were too polite to mention it though! Our wait person was friendly and helpful. Liked the bottle shop attached for easy selection of wine with the meal. More

Lucky me ! The sun came out on my day off and sitting outside for lunch was the order of the day. I had been to La Notte once before but in the evening and I remembered it to be very good. I always see people eating lunch there so I decided it was worth a second trip. The service... More

The 'Pasta e Fagioli' was fresh, thick and hot for $9.95. The special for the red by the glass was Devil's Lair Shiraz Tempranillo and the hot chocolate 'seriously rich'! More

We flew from Sydney to Melbourne last weekend to see the Tutankhamun Exhibition. Having done some research on Melbourne restaurants beforehand, we chose to have lunch at La Notte located in the famous Lygon St. The service was very good but the food was very average. We both had steak which was tender but lacking in any flavour and in... More

Entrees came out famously within 15-20mins of ordering and the service was good, very friendly staff - up until the clock struck 8pm, the staff were literally running and things started to look challenging, then waited almost an hour for mains, Chicken Kiev was hardly warm, Crab Spaghetti was hot, flavoursome but wasn't shelled, bit awkward in a neopolitan sauce... Its a great place. Excellent food. Went in a group so was able to try a lot of different things. Go for the seafood platter. Service was very good. And a great selection of wines. Highly recommended. More
