Along with a group of colleagues, I enjoyed a meal at Kuni's this week. Some of us had the set menu for $55 per person and I loved the array of dishes that we were served. Each one was a small but perfectly prepared and beautifully presented treat, and I was converted to a sashimi fan by the perfect slices... More

I have been going to Kuni's for the better part of the last 18 years of my life. The staff are always courteous and attentive, and the food is impecable! I highly recommend trying the Teriyaki Chicken and the Gyoza. To finish off try the Black Sesame, Green Tea and Mango ice-creams. Delicious food and prompt delivery! More

Located at the top of Little Bourke St in Melbourne, Kunis is an unpretentious and authentic Japanese restaurant that is moderately priced. Fresh sashimi and crispy tempura made to perfection. The reason this place is even better than most is the service - friendly, warm and not in your face. Great atmosphere too. More

If I closed my eyes and relied on my taste buds I could've been in Japan. Authentic Japanese cuisine. More

Thoughtful Japanese cuisine leaves you with the feeling that you have done your body a favour by dining there. Not the place to go if you like the waiters to throw the food at you as they don't do tepanyaki! More

Just had a lovely meal at Kuni's. The staff were very helpful with advice about ow to avoid fish based meals and we consequently had an absolutely delightful feast. The eggplant melted in our mouths, the way beef was soft and luxurious, and the mushrooms and the asparagus tempura were fresh and crunchy. All accompanied by little complimentary snacks and... More

Good sashimi and sushi are rare in Australian cities, and Kuni's is similar in standard to a range of other Japanese restaurants that can be found in Melbourne. In comparison with the best Australian purveyors of raw fishy delights (for example Azuma in Sydney, or Sono in Brisbane) it lags well behind in quality, but not in price. In fact,... More
