My wife and I truely enjoyed our weekday evening dining at Il Vicolo, Carlton. The service was good and the food enjoyable. Italian fare varied in prices for mains between $20 and $35. We felt the wide range of deserts were overpriced above $10 but our total meal cost just over $100 - no deserts but had two alcoholic drinks.... More

The service at Il Vicolo is always attentive but never intrusive, things just happen without you having to ask (eg) for more water or wine. The food was good and fresh and the servings satisfying. This restaurant is classic Italian with all the trimmings - great service, sensational food, good ambiance and nothing left for wanting. Enjoyed a lovely dinner there with pre-dinner drinks, main course only (not because the food wasn't fantastic; just because discipline was being invoked) and very good wine.
