We visited The Deanery for dinner on Saturday, 28 April, 2012. We literally stumbled across The Deanery by accident and we are so glad that we did! We enjoyed dinner and lovely wine and had a fabulous time. My partner raved about the goat pasta - and when I say raved I mean that even now, days later I am... More

40 people for dinner along with a speaker! What a challenge. Not only was the service discreet and efficient, the food was amazing. Set in a quiet lane off Flinders Lane, on the Southern Cross Staion side of Elizabeth St, it's actually hard to find, but well worth the visit. It's just another example fo the amazing offerings in the... More

This wine bar and resturant is nestled away in a laneway in the heart of the city, the wine list is comprehensive with some great value burgundies and other imported wines as well as the usual asutralian selection. The food was well prepared and executed and very reasonably priced. Service was good also, staff were not only pleasant but seemed... More

The Deanery is tucked away in an alley off Flinders Lane in the CBD of Melbourne, so we had never noticed it before attending a wine dinner. But we will be back, soon. The theme of the evening was to allow the person responsible for selecting the wines for The Deanery to showcase his favourites of the past few months.... More

We had often looked at this place but never eaten there before. It was a Monday night so not busy. Our fish was beautifully cooked and the dish light and fresh. One of the nicest meals I had in Melbourne - I enjoyed it much more than Flower Drum!! Would definitely go back. More

The Christmas beer was a great start to our night, and adding the "dining tour" of Melbourne into the event, this was a great location to start at. The entree's were superb and the various slection of wines, the staff details were specific on each item we drank and ate, which started our night off great cheers. More

please please please if you are a good restaurant or bar you do not need to drop the decimals out of your prices. it looks provincial and silly and gimmicky and for me always flags a place that needs to add silly gimmicks because it isnt good enough on its own. good service of nice wine and food should come... I have been here a couple of times for business lunches and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Even if you don't want to eat here the bar is pretty good to have a drink at. Cool bar/restaurant, tucked away and I recommend trying this place. More

Not easy to find in Melbourne's CBD off Flinders Lane between Elizabeth and Queen Streets. Tried both the degustation menu and the superb and imaginative full dinner menu. Among the stand outs were the caulifower mousse and the rose jelly with violet impregnated sponge.Strongly recommended More
