Enjoyed dinner with friends here, and appreciated the complimentary bottle of wine. I had the whole fish which was only just cooked and would have loved some extra vegetables with it. Everyone else enjoyed their pasta, chicken and risotto. Desserts were great too. My only complaint was the lack of gluten free options.

First time in Lygon st.random. Was treated like family The food was excellent The food is 'old school', lots of taste and plenty of butter the service just as good. 2nd night went down Lygon st again looking for another place to eat as my mother-in-law wanted to eat eals where. So we walked up and down Lygon st but... More

Ventured to dinner with friends on Lygon Street, and this restaurant was randomly chosen by one of our party. Everyone at the table except myself ordered an entree, and most people enjoyed theirs, however one of us ordered the bruschetta which turned out to be sliced tomato on bread with a small sprinkle of basil, this was pretty unimpressive. My... More

If you want to know what dining in Europe must have been like during the 60's this is the place to go. This place is an institution and it's still around because it has earned the right to do so. The food is 'old school', lots of taste and plenty of butter! The beautiful piece of beef served to my... More

Dinner last night here was excellent. While pricey compared to other places on the strip, the quality was very good and genuine Italian food. We stayed away from pastas and went with the veal and chicken. Just great. Wine list was ok, but aging on the high side, only 2 Italian reds but reasonable quality. We sat inside to stay... More

I've been to Borsari in the past month a couple of times: once for a business lunch and once with family in the evening. Everyone has enjoyed their meal, the service has been great, the atmosphere quiet, but that's fine with me. Fish of the day was a success as was an unusual risotto. I would certainly recommend this place... More

I thought this restaurant was one of the better ones in Lygon St but after last night I would not recommend it. Three of our group ordered lasagne which we all agreed tasted delicious but was very cold so we sent it back. What resulted was warmer lasagne but not only did it taste different but was a different colour.... More

Lygon St. dining can be problematic at the best of times. You know you're guaranteed to walk up and get a table but there are too many places that trade on the reputation of the area without delivering the value they promise. Borsari does a better job than most of it's local competitors but still under-delivers on value. The dining... More

My wife and I have been dining at Borari's for more than a decade. We probably dine here once every two months.Very little changes - although a new menu was produced twelve months ago. Not what was offered on the menu - just what you held in your hand. And why change when it ain't broke. They get it right... More

Dined here last Sunday, and found it just OK. Room was fine, service was a bit perfunctory and arrogant. The food was hit and miss - the pasta and fish were fine, but the osso bucco should definitely be avoided. The wine list was very disappointing, with only 2 Italian reds listed. And expensive for what was there. For what... More
