Excellent food and great service as usual. Visitor from Uk said best steak he had ever had. Nice wine selection by the glass . Not the cheapest place around but happy to pay for quality.

the pleasant greetings for Barkers is as uch about the lack of local alternatives as it is about the pub. It's a good version of a pub renovation (particularly c.f. the old dive of a place that was here before - the BeeHive) but for what you get it's on the basic sde and a little on the expensive side....
